NFL Betting: The Brady Effect and New England’s Updated Super Bowl Odds

NFL Betting: The Brady Effect and New England’s Updated Super Bowl OddsBig news in the NFL this week with Tom Brady’s four-game suspension nullified by the courts, and now the defending Super Bowl champs will have their start player under center on Thursday night as they open the NFL regular season at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

With the suspension looming, the Patriots were down to a three-point favorite in that game vs. the Steelers (Pittsburgh will be without RB Bell, who was also suspended). But now with Brady back in the lineup the Pats are currently a seven-point home favorite at the online sportsbooks.

Not having to lose their starting quarterback also had a drastic change on New England’s Super Bowl odds.

Soccer Betting: Best Soccer Players in the World 2015

Best Soccer Players in the World 2015 Picking the best soccer player in the world is like picking the best beer – everyone has their own opinion backed by a solid argument. Most would consider Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi somewhere near the top, as do we.

We give the slight edge to Messi over Ronaldo. He nearly single-handedly led Argentina to the World Cup Final and is unparalleled when going through traffic.

FC Barcelona have overwhelmong sportsbook odds at -175 favorite to win La Liga  this season. Last year, Messi put in 43 goals in 38 league games, as well as 58 goals in 57 appearances overall.

Tennis Betting: US Open Update

Tennis Betting: US Open Update We are three rounds in to the US Open (two round completed on the women’s side), and while most of the major contenders are still around, there have been quite a few upsets in both the men’s singles and women’s singles brackets. Top-seeded Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams have advanced with little trouble, but some of their top competition have already fallen.

Three of the top 16 seeded players on the men’s side couldn’t advance past the first round. The major upset in this bracket saw fourth-seeded Kei Nishikori fall in five sets against Benoit Paire.

Third-seeded Andy Murray was nearly a victim of the upset bug, falling behind two sets against Adrian Mannarino before rallying to win the final three sets to advance.

MLB Betting: Toronto Blue Jays Leap over NY Yankees

MLB Betting: Toronto Blue Jays Leap over NY Yankees It’s been a long road to the top, but the Toronto Blue Jays have finally surpassed the New York Yankees for the lead in the AL East Division, owning a 1.5-game lead over the Bronx Bombers heading into Friday’s action.

Toronto has been on an absolute tear going 18-4 in their last 22 games overall – a winning streak that coincided with bringing in ace pitcher David Price.

Now that the Blue Jays have the division lead, don’t expect them to be complacent – this is a team we will be looking to back throughout the next month and a half.

Offensive production was never a problem for the Blue Jays – they lead the majors in runs scored by a whopping 100-run margin and their overall run differential is +170 (42 runs better than second-best St. Louis).

Seahawks QB Wilson Pressured to sign

Seahawks QB Wilson pressured to signThis is now the 2nd time in 2015 that Seahawks QB Wilson is on the one yard line, and time is running out for his opportunity to make the dough. In the Super Bowl, it was offensive coordinator to make the call, and this week the call is on Wilson.

Because if Wilson does not make an agreement for a contract extension when they open training camp this week, he could play this season for his small $1.545 million, then wait to get a franchise take in February of 2016.

The reason, being that the Seahawks will not permit contract talks to extend into their training camp sessions.
