The NFL is back after being away for six months. The Las Vegas Raiders faced Jacksonville Jaguars at the Hall of Fame game. However, the Raiders vs Jaguars was not a close match.
According to a bookie pay per head blog, it was a good start for new Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels. His team won against the Jaguars 27-11 and spoiled the debut of rookie head coach Doug Pederson.
It was a homecoming for Mcdaniels, who is a native of Jacksonville. He used to play for Canton McKinley High School and was on the sidelines while watching his father, Thom McDaniels, coach the team.
Raiders vs Jaguars
According to sportsbook pay per head sources, both teams played without most of their starters. WR Davante Adams and QB Derek Carr didn’t play for the Las Vegas Raiders. On the other hand, the Jaguars listed 21 players who would sit out of the game.
Because most star players were out of the game, it was given that the game was not as polished as fans wanted. Referees penalized top draft pick Travon Walker on the very first play of the match for roughing Raiders’ backup QB Jarrett Stidham. However, he made up for it with a sack later in the match.
SportsbookSOS.com reports that Rookie RB Zamir White rushed for 52 yards and caught the ball for 23 yards. Also, the Raiders’ rushing offense broke down their opponent’s defense. The team finished with 159 rushing yards and three rushing TDs. Stidham, Ameer Abdullah, and Austin Walter got one rushing TD each.
On the other hand, kicker Daniel Carlson of the Raiders was perfect from the field. He earned three extra points and two field goals.
On the other side, RB Nathan Cottrell scored the only TD for the Jaguars. He caught Kyle Sloter’s pass in the endzone.
