New York Liberty PG Sabrina Ionescu got 26 points, ten rebounds, and 12 assists to become the youngest WNBA player to achieve triple-double. Her performance helped her team win against Minnesota Lynx Tuesday.
Ionescu was once a protégé of NBA legend Kobe Bryant. Also, she was the top pick in the 2020 WNBA draft. She earned her triple-double in the sixth game after an ankle injury sent her to the sideline in her rookie season.
According to sportsbook pay per head news, it was the first triple-double earned by a New York Liberty player. Also, Ionescu is the youngest to achieve the milestone at 23 years old. She said she was excited about the milestone. However, she’s more excited that her team got the win. New York is now 3-0 after only winning two games last season.
