According to a top state health official, California allows fans in stadiums if the county they belong in has a low infection rate of the coronavirus. According to health records, San Francisco, Santa Clara, and Alameda are the only counties that can allow fans in stadiums.
However, Santa Clara officials said that they are not prepared to allow fans inside Levi's Stadium. Santa Clara is home to the San Francisco 49ers. Based on the state's regulations, 14,000 fans can watch 49ers games at Levi's Stadium.
According to Santa Clara executive officer Dr. Jeff Smith, the county made a reasonable scientific decision instead of a political one. Allowing fans in a stadium will result in more infections. Also, being outdoors doesn't guarantee that the virus would not spread among fans. The crowd would use the same doors and restrooms. They will yell and scream during the match.

However, the team said that they would cooperate with local public health officials to develop a plan that would protect the team, employees, and fans' wellness and health.
