Lots of people were able to finally take a deep breath and relax a little once the first pitch was thrown a few days ago on July 23rd, in the Nationals vs Yankees game in Washington. Not only have we been waiting for some sports action, but what that meant was the first major American league coming back to action and that symbolizes a lot for fans and sportsbook owners out there, that are hoping for things to go back to normal, little by little.
MLB season is underway now, and many games have already been played, but not everything is good news at camp. The Miami Marlins were the first to set off the alarms, with several positive Coronavirus tests after their first series was played. Luckily, nobody in the other team caught it, and even though some games were postponed as a precaution, it showed that the pandemic is still out there and that things can easily change in this unusual season.

Mike Tyson is back! He will fight Roy Jones Jr. in an eight-round exhibition match on September 12th in California. Per ESPN’s Ariel Helwani:
“No fans in attendance, No headgear. Larger gloves, but they’re still working that out. Maybe 12 (ounces).”
A former heavyweight champion, Tyson worked his way into an incredible shape over recent months. He has been on the comeback trail for a while and looked fearsome in all of his training videos.
“The Baddest Man on the Planet” talked about his plans to fight again and his workouts in May:
“I do around two hours on cardio, I do the bike and I do the treadmill for an hour,” Tyson explained. “And then I do some light weights. I do around 300, 250 reps. And then I start my day with the boxing, and then I go in there and hit the mitts for 30 minutes, 25 minutes, trying to get into better condition.”

As we continue to look at each division heading into the 2020 season, next up is the AL West. Like several others, this division on the surface seems to have at least four teams who will all legitimately compete for a spot in the postseason. We’ll look at all five clubs, the notable players for each, and where they’ll land according to their over/under win totals.
Houston Astros - O/U: 35 wins
Much of the talk around the Astros this offseason has been less about winning 107 games and coming one win short of a World Series title, but rather the sign-stealing scandal that rocked the baseball world. But Houston still has tons of talent to make them a championship-caliber team.
The lineup core of 3B Alex Bregman, 2B Jose Altuve, CF George Springer, and SS Carlos Correa is still in place, along with All-Star-caliber bats like Rookie of the Year Yordan Alvarez, 1B Yuli Gurriel, and LF Michael Brantley. Former Cy Young winners Justin Verlander and Zack Greinke anchor the pitching rotation as well.

Most, if not all, of the professional sports leagues already have protocols in place for their respective seasons during a pandemic. The NBA and NHL will be doing a lock-in in a sports complex to minimize risk from travelling. The MLB restructured its divisions and will be reducing the number of games. Meanwhile, the NFL, who has a clean break as they are starting the season from the beginning, may not be as ready as everyone believes. And just days before training camps return, NFL players question the NFL safety plan proposed.
The NFL teams had a meeting and were able to get updates on the protocols that the NFL plans to implement for the coming season. The league has an agreement in place with the NFLPA regarding health and safety protocols. They aim to be able to hold a full regular season. Many sports-related businesses, including the best sportsbook pay per head, are also preparing for a complete season for America’s top sports league.

The restarting of all of the sports leagues across the world include 1 rule: there will be no fans watching games live. Everyone who wants to watch games will have to settle for watching it on tv, or streaming the games online. For owners, this means a huge loss of income, as they now have 0 ticket sales for the season.
As for players, we know how players use fans as a way to boost their morale. It is, after all, one of the tenets of a home field advantage. And bettors and pay per head solutions providers alike know that it is unlikely to see fans in the bleachers again soon. But one can hope.

BetMGM is the third sportsbook to become a Denver Broncos sports betting partner. The Broncos announced the inking of the multi-year deal with BetMGM, which is the brand for the joint venture of MGM Resorts and UK-based GVC Holdings.
According to the partnership deal, it will have the usual branding opportunities and formation of fan experiences through the digital properties of the NFL team and at the stadium. Also, the deal allows BetMGM to make a mobile prediction game that will allow players to win prizes.
BetMGM will open a lounge at the Empower Field. It will serve alcohol to fans over the age of 21. Also, they will receive guidance on live betting and odds. However, it will not have a retail sportsbook. Players will only get help on how to use the BetMGM app.

Three years in a row the New Orleans Saints have entered the off-season with a sense of frustration and a question of What-If? First it was the Minneapolis Miracle that ended their season, then it was the uncalled DPI that saw a rule change, and finally this past January an overtime touchdown from Kirk Cousins to Kyle Rudolph with the home team never touching the ball in the extra period.
The good news is that the offensive firepower is still intact so the window, while closing, remains open for this Super Bowl contender. Drew Brees, Michael Thomas, and Alvin Kamara when healthy form quite the three-headed monster for head coach Sean Payton. Last year the offense finished ninth in total yards, seventh in passing yards and had the least amount of turnovers (8) in the NFL.
