NFL Betting – Breaking Down Super Bowl 50

NFL Betting Tips – Breaking Down Super Bowl 50As we count down the hours until Super Bowl 50 kicks off, there are two big stories emerging. The first is the details coming out about Peyton Manning’s alleged PED use, and the second – and most important for Super Bowl bettors – is what side the smart money has come in on for the big game.

Early betting came in heavy on the Carolina Panthers, with some online sportsbooks taking in as much as 90% of their action on the favorites. But the sharp action has since come in big on the underdog Broncos in the hours leading up to the big game, and online sportsbooks such as BetOnline.ag have dropped the Panthers to a 4.5-point favorite.

Changes in the NFL

2016 Changes in the NFLWe are still more than a week out from Super Bowl 50 (there is still time to get in on 1Vice.ag’s $10,000 Super Bowl Squares Contest with a minimum $400 deposit) and we will certainly get into the big game next week, but for now we’ll take a look at everything else that has happened in the NFL over the past few weeks.

The big off-the-field news over the past month has been relocation, with the St. Louis Rams, San Diego Chargers, and Oakland Raiders all hopeful of moving their franchises to Los Angeles.

The Rams made the strongest case in the eyes of the NFL owners, although San Diego has been given the option to join the Rams. San Diego must decide in mid-March if they will indeed move. That leaves Oakland to decide their fate, with rumors now pointing to San Antonio as a possible landing spot for the Raiders.

Seahawks QB Wilson Pressured to sign

Seahawks QB Wilson pressured to signThis is now the 2nd time in 2015 that Seahawks QB Wilson is on the one yard line, and time is running out for his opportunity to make the dough. In the Super Bowl, it was offensive coordinator to make the call, and this week the call is on Wilson.

Because if Wilson does not make an agreement for a contract extension when they open training camp this week, he could play this season for his small $1.545 million, then wait to get a franchise take in February of 2016.

The reason, being that the Seahawks will not permit contract talks to extend into their training camp sessions.

NFL Betting – Beware of the Dogs

NFL Betting – Beware of the DogsWhen the Buffalo Bills upset the New York Jets on Thursday night – winning 22-17 as a 2.5-point road underdog, it triggered a crazy weekend of NFL action which saw a number of underdogs win outright.

Overall, underdogs went 12-2 against the pointspread, and an unbelievable 11-3 straight up. Backing all underdogs over the entire weekend against the pointspread would have resulted in a net profit of 7.7 units, while backing all underdogs over the entire weekend on the moneyline would have yielded an incredible 19.95 units of profit!

There were two incredible upsets this weekend, with both Green Bay and Cincinnati losing outright at home as double-digit favorites. The Packers lost their third game in a row as Detroit won in Lambeau Field for the first time since 1991.

2015 NFL Futures: Cleveland’s Woes Continue

2015 NFL Futures: Cleveland’s Woes ContinueAs Golden State celebrated their NBA Finals victory last week, the city of Cleveland once again came up short as the city has not one a major sports championship in 51 years. The Cavs and Indians have had some good teams in recent memory, but the Browns have been dismal since returning to Cleveland, and Cleveland Browns Stadium is known locally as a factory of sadness.

Online Sportsbooks are starting to post their NFL Futures, including Super Bowl Odds and team wins over/unders.

Betting on futures has potential for good payoffs, and has the added bonus of allowing the bettor to hedge himself later on for guaranteed profit even if the team doesn’t win the championship.

NFL Betting: The Brady Effect and New England’s Updated Super Bowl Odds

NFL Betting: The Brady Effect and New England’s Updated Super Bowl OddsBig news in the NFL this week with Tom Brady’s four-game suspension nullified by the courts, and now the defending Super Bowl champs will have their start player under center on Thursday night as they open the NFL regular season at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

With the suspension looming, the Patriots were down to a three-point favorite in that game vs. the Steelers (Pittsburgh will be without RB Bell, who was also suspended). But now with Brady back in the lineup the Pats are currently a seven-point home favorite at the online sportsbooks.

Not having to lose their starting quarterback also had a drastic change on New England’s Super Bowl odds.
