Are You Ready for the NBA Play-In Tournament?

We have just one more week left of the NBA regular season - then it’s on to the playoffs. This season’s postseason structure will be a bit different. Still feeling repercussions from Covid-19 on the league’s schedule, there is an NBA play-in tournament this season to determine the final seeds.

The season has just 72 games instead of the typical 82. This play-in tournament is a way for teams to have an opportunity to get into the playoffs if they were right on the cusp. This is also a plus for NBA bettors with an expanded betting board.

Are you ready for the NBA play-in tournament? Here’s everything you need to know before it gets started.

NBA play-in tournament start date

Yahoo Sports Joins NBA Alternative Sports Betting Broadcasts

Yahoo Sports Joins NBA Alternative Sports Betting BroadcastsYahoo Sports joins the NBA alternative sports betting broadcasts. It started last Friday during the match between Memphis Grizzlies and Los Angeles Clippers. Yahoo Sports will be part of the NBABet Stream, an alternate broadcast on the NBA League Pass.

The NBA has been offering alternate feeds since August, which was the restart of the season. Last Friday, analysts did play-by-play commentary while providing odds, in-game stats, and wagering trends.

According to 9DollarPerHead.com, gone are the days that one broadcaster has a monopoly over games. At present, the NBA is providing an alternative broadcast for people who are interested in betting while watching games.

Advancements in technology removed the tech barrier for alternate streams. However, broadcasting rights put some restrictions on the broadcasts. The NBABet Stream was made possible through the partnerships between the league, Yahoo, and BetMGM.

How Former Michael Jordan Teammates and Rivals Reacted to ESPN’s ‘The Last Dance’

ESPN’s ‘The Last Dance,’ a 10-part documentary series about Michael Jordan and the 1998 Chicago Bulls provided an intimate look at the epic team. Many think that ‘The Last Dance’ was the best sports documentary ever made. Some of Michael Jordan’s former teammates and rivals shared their impressions.

BetOnline recently released a roundtable session with Horace Grant, Ron Harper, Bill Cartwright and Craig Hodges reacting to ‘The Last Dance.’ Called ‘The Final Dance’ and hosted by David Kaplan from SportsTalk Live and ESPN Chicago, it counters some of Jordan’s claims.

Five-time NBA champion Ron Harper shared that ‘The Last Dance’ was good, even though he wanted it to be more about what the Bulls did as a team. Harper also said: “I understand they gave the copyrights to MJ, so it was more like come fly with me...”

NBA will not “jump in line” for Covid-19 vaccines, says Adam Silver

The last few days of 2020 have filled the world with hope, as both Pfizer and Moderna were able to release their Covid-19 vaccines to the public and start distributing to different countries, as the biggest effort so far to try to contain and, hopefully, eliminate the Coronavirus threat that has changed humanity during this whole year.

A total of ten countries were able to be ready to approve, receive and start vaccinating in the first few days; the United States was one of those, of course, as well as Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, Argentina, and Chile, in America. The United Kingdom, China, Russia, and Israel were the other four.

As we can imagine, there are many procedures to follow now by these countries, as well as priorities, as for who gets the vaccine first. Older or high-risk people and health workers are an example of the ones who will be first in line.

The NBA Could Return By May

NBA Could return soonThe NBA was the first professional sports league in the US to suspend its games and, subsequently, its season. Rudy Gobert, center for Utah Jazz, was confirmed to have the Coronavirus, with other players following suit. This prompted officials to suspend the league until the situation is better- and safer. But according to NBA insiders, the NBA could return by May, but the experience will be different from what we are used to.

A lot of people have been successful in their efforts to open a pay per head casino to compensate for the loss of income due to the lack of sports games. After all, basketball is not the only sport that is on pause- the NHL is suspended as well, and the MLB is delaying its opening.

But as much as safety is the prime consideration in suspending leagues across the world, another concern is the danger this poses to the economy, as well as the employment and well-being of those who work in the sports and sports betting industry. Now, a careful balance between the two will have to be considered.

NBA releases Health and Safety Protocol Guide for 2020-2021 season

NBA releases Health and Safety Protocol Guide As the NBA opens training camps and released the preseason schedule in recent days, it has also released a formal 134-page Health and Safety Protocol guide, similar to what was presented by the league and the NBAPA for the Orlando Bubble a few months ago, with the purpose of making very clear what the Covid-19 protocols will be for the new, 2020-2021 season.

There are important differences this season, compared to the Orlando Bubble, which was a complete success, Covid-19 wise. The most important one so far is the fact that there will be no bubble this season, at least not for the regular season, but each team will play home and visit games, 72 in total.

Miami Guard Dion Waiters Suffers Bad Reaction to THC Edible

Miami Guard Dion Waiters Suffers Bad Reaction to THC EdibleMiami guard Dion Waiters hasn’t played a single NBA game this season for several reasons. However, his latest absence was due to the weirdest reason yet. According to pay per head sources, Waiters had an adverse reaction to THC.

THC is the active ingredient found in marijuana, which is still part of the banned substances list of the NBA. Waiters had a panic attack during the team’s charter flight last Thursday after eating an edible infused with THC.

The Miami Heat organization didn’t give out an official comment about the incident. According to basketball news outlets, Waiters suffered from a stomachache after ingesting an unknown substance after the team won against the Phoenix Suns. He was treated for it after the team arrived in LA. He didn’t attend the game against the Lakers because of an unspecified illness.
